EPIC Trip Back East! | Major Lesson In Bass Fishing History

Matt just got back from an awesome fishing trip in Kentucky and Tennessee! He met up with some great guys and fished a bunch of lakes, even fishing a tournament on Dale Hollow! What he didn't expect, was to be hit so hard by the historical significance of these amazing fisheries!

There are a bunch of fishing videos coming from the trip, including a first-person perspective from the Billy Westmoreland Invitational Tournament. In the meantime, Matt got in front of the camera to share his thoughts and experiences from the trip. He got a lot more than he bargained for when he walked back through the history of Smallmouth Bass fishing in Tennessee and he shares his perspective in this video.

Wondering what TacticalBassin methods caught fish during the trip? Below is a list of the baits that the guys were able to catch fish on while road tripping for a week.

$200,000 Yacht Sunk To The Bottom!! (Coast Guard Called)

You never know what you're going to see when fishing!!! We noticed the oil slick, then the life jackets, then the yacht! Once the Coast Guard arrived we gave them the room to work but we hope this worked out for the boat owners!

Let this serve as a reminder to all of us! Regular boat maintenance is so important! In your bass boat, here are some quick items you can change to ensure that your boat isn't taking on water. Don't let those minor leaks go unchecked. We've had to raise a bass boat off the lake bottom in the past and its not easy!

If you happen to remember that we were fishing in the beginning of the video here is the gear we were using. And if you were wondering what on earth we were doing... 30 foot visibility and Tim's fish had a follower chasing it around... we were after that double hook up.

We forget how dangerous the water can be. Boats sink all the time and we need to be more aware of the dangers. Always wear your safety equipment, carry the tools and equipment to keep you and your passengers safe, and always keep an eye out to help others that may be in distress.

Two GIANT Bass, One Swimbait!! CRAZY!

From bad, to worse, to EPIC! You've got to see it with your own eyes to believe this insane big bass catch! Two fish on one cast is crazy but doing it without a rod, how is that even possible???

The cast started like any other but when Tim's S-Waver was clipped off his line by an aggressive fish it went downhill quickly. He thought the bait was lost until he saw movement in the water. A 2nd flash revealed two fish struggling with one another for control of the swimbait. In the midst of the commotion Tim was able to slip a net under them and successfully land the two fish without the use of his swimbait rod. CRAZY!

If it weren't for the footage it would just be another fish story. You've got to check it out!

Matt's MOST EMBARASSING Moment

FISHING FAIL and it happened in a tournament! Not weighing in anything at all would have been better than this mess! Weighing an entire 5 bass limit for less than 5 lbs was a really sobering experience.

Thanks for listening to this embarassing story. Its all in good fun, we've all had those tough days we don't forget but that's what keeps us coming back for more. Don't let my experience deter you, Collins Lake is an awesome fishery! Here is the link to Tim telling the story of his 15 lber: https://youtu.be/pJt8qY0S6gY
