4 Bass Fishing Mistakes We All Make Right Now! (And How To Change Them)

We all make the same mistakes! Learn from ours, so you can catch more fish! Late Summer and the Early Fall transition can be a complicated time to fish for bass. Its even more complicated if you fall into these common pitfalls! Instead of making the same mistakes over and over, here are some key tips to help you catch way more fish on your next trip!

We love to focus on the positive, so while this video is about mistakes; its also full of solutions. Focus on covering water with finesse baits or going big with large swimbaits. Avoid the mid-sized baits unless you're trying a unique bait that other guys aren't throwing. There are some very simple ways to catch fish as we approach the Fall transition, you just need to recognize what's happening and adapt accordingly.

Below you'll find links to the exact baits we're discussing in the video. We've included our favorite heads and rigging components where applicable, along with some budget-friendly gear to help you catch more fish. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

What's the Craziest Thing You've Ever Hooked While Fishing?? Here's Matt's Story!

Crazy things happen on the lake! We plan to catch fish but sometimes we hook birds, animals, and who knows what else! What's the craziest thing you've ever caught? Here's the story of  Matt's most bizarre experiences!

The Osprey is understandable. The bird is curious and if you've thrown a swimbait for any length of time you've probably had a close call. But what was the beaver thinking? That one is just crazy!

In case you find yourself in this kind of situation there are a few tools that will make it a little easier to free your accidental catch. A net, pliers, and wire cutters are essential to getting the job done cleanly. With smaller animals simply roll them in the net and work through the mesh to free the hooks. This eliminates the danger to humans of being pecked, clawed, etc... and it restricts the animal's movement so it doesn't hurt itself while panicking.
