Fluke Fishing Tricks (Double Fluke Rig) - Catch 2 Bass At Once!!

These fish are smashing the Double Fluke Rig! Matt is on the water chasing a fluke bite (soft jerkbait) and the fish are chewing the double fluke AKA Donkey Rig. If you've never thrown a double fluke, its a great option for schooling bass. Matt catches a bunch of fish then sits down and shows exactly how he builds and fishes this rig. Don't miss the end when he catches a double!

The concept behind the double fluke rig is very similar to an A-rig. You've got multiple baits working in unison to trigger a feed response. When you hook up you've got the added bonus of a potential double up at any time because the 2nd bait is still free swinging. Building and fishing the rig are both simple enough but if you really want to fine tune it, we've got some tweaks for you.

We use different size leaders, different hooks, and different baits to get our baits to run in 2 different water columns (one below the other) to dial in the bite and keep the fish eating our mainline bait first. By changing the hook placement or by switching between the Zoom and Strike King baits you can get the baits to run even farther apart. If you want the whole rig to run deeper, using larger swivels will weigh down the nose of the rig and help it maintain depth after you let it sink at the start of your cast.

Below is a breakdown of the baits and equipment Matt is using in the video as well as the added gear he uses to adapt the rig. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

4 Topwater Tricks For Early Fall Bass Fishing!

The Fall transition can be a topwater angler's dream! When the bass are feeding and you've got a bait that matches the hatch, it feels like you can do no wrong! Poppers, walking baits, buzz baits, and frogs, can all produce days on the water you'll never forget. But what about the other days? The days when the bite shuts off or the bass key in on a specific baitfish so aggressively that you can't lure them away... These 4 tricks will make all the difference on the tough days.

Step 1 is to go natural. Stick to colors that perfectly match the baitfish. Its not the time for bright chartreuse or bone, stick to the ghost tones. Step 2 is to downsize and match the exact size of the baitfish the bass are targeting. Step 3 is to accent your hooks with feathers, colors changes, etc... to create the most natural bait possible. And finally, step 4 is to focus on subtle baits.

Below is a breakdown of Tim's most reliable baits this time of year. We've also included links to the hooks and hardware upgrades he recommends. The links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Flutter Spoons: Everything You Need To Know

Flutter spoons are AWESOME Summer and Fall baits for targeting bass that are feeding on baitfish. The technique remains a mystery for most anglers but Tim has refined his methods for both rigging and fishing this unique style of spoon. In this video he breaks down all the details to help you become successful with a Flutter Spoon.

Whether you want to throw a small 4" spoon, the standard 6" or the giant Magnum spoons, these tips will help you be more successful. Tim breaks down several different retrieves as well as the rigging you'll need to hook more of your bites.

Below is a breakdown of Tim's favorite spoons. The main difference between brands of spoon is thickness and weight. You'll want to try several of them to experiment with fall rates and figure out if the fish you're targeting prefer a faster or slower fall.

TacticalBassin Put To The Test In The Midwest!

Brutal Rain, Cold, and Wind settled in over Michigan but the guys from TacticalBassin still found active fish. Come along for a Wet and Windy trip! You might just see them catch a few on Topwater when its 40 degrees outside!

The plan was to spend some time on the Crystal Clear waters of Northern Michigan catching Smallmouth and shooting video with a handful of great anglers. The reality was a storm that reached from Northern Canada all the way to Florida and seemed to be centered perfectly over Michigan. Day after day the rains continued to pour until we couldn't stand it anymore and had to get out on the water!

You'd have expected a slow bite but that wasn't the case. While it was difficult to film it wasn't difficult to get bit. From swimbaits to Topwater, those Smallmouth and Largemouth bass were feeding up before Winter arrived!
