Where Do Bass Go In EARLY Spring? And How To Catch Them Before The PreSpawn!

The Fish are on the move! If your fish haven't already begun to transition, its coming! If you're not ready they'll vanish completely and tracking them down again before the spawn is almost impossible without an understanding of their migration. Where are they headed, where will they stop along the way, and how can you catch them when they do? Come along, and we'll show you.

Different styles of fisheries progress differently. You need to figure out if you are fishing a river, a Delta, a natural lake, a highland reservoir, or a lowland reservoir. Depending which style you're on, the movements will vary. Luckily, we're explaining the movement in each one of these fisheries today. As your fish begin to move, you need to understand their ultimate goal is transition toward spawning flats. With that in mind you can identify the nearest spawning grounds to where your fish have been, then identify the key spots along the way the fish will stop on to feed.

As you're focusing on fishing the key structures along the migration route there are key baits you should be focusing your time on. Use baits that cover water quickly, have significant drawing power, and can trigger a feed response. Below you'll find links to all of our favorite options for this transition into the prespawn. All of the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Fall Jerkbait Fishing: Everything You Need To Know

Underwater footage shows us which jerkbaits look the best but can you replicate it on your own? Today Matt teaches when to use each style of jerkbait, which colors to try, and some tricks to get the best action out of the baits. If you're ready to catch bass this Fall on a jerkbait, this video will help you do it!

Fall is prime time for a jerkbait. Bass are aggressively targeting baitfish and will continue to do so into the Winter. While some lures may fade away as the water cools the jerkbait will continue to work throughout the Winter months. The key is understanding the cadences for cool water as well as which baits will give the best action.

TacticalBassin keeps it simple with 5 jerkbaits that offer consistent actions at a variety of depths. To further simplify it, they focus on 3 color profiles to meet every circumstance. Make sure you stick around for the tips about replacement hooks and the line trick to get the best action out of every jerkbait! It doesn't take boxes of lures to catch a jerkbait fish, you can do it!

Below is a breakdown of the baits and equipment discussed in the video. Below each bait you'll find color recommendations that meet each of the 3 color profiles that work nationwide.

3 Fishing Knots Everyone Should Know

Today we're tying 3 knots every fisherman needs to know. The Palomar and San Diego Jam are both great knots for attaching hooks and lures to your line. The Blood Knot is an excellent knot for attaching your main line to your leader material. We have a few tricks we do to adapt each knot to our fishing style and we're sharing those with you too!

No matter what species of fish you pursue, these are extremely helpful knots. If you're a bass fisherman, they're the only knots you'll ever need to know! Are there other knots that work well? Of course! The downside of many other knots is they're either too difficult to tie for the average angler and/or you can't tell when they're tied incorrectly.

Below is a breakdown of the different lines that we use for all of our fishing needs, as well as a link to the video explaining what each line is for.
