Packing For A Fishing Trip + Travel Tips! (Travel Rods, Baits, And Gear Storage)

Whether you're going down the road to climb on a friend's boat, or headed around the globe to an exotic destination, packing tackle is a pain! We've developed a system now that makes it much easier to grab our tackle and go, no matter the destination. If you've ever wondered what we pack when we head out on the road, today we're opening up and letting you see it all!

The specific tackle can vary by location, but the staples remain the same. We have a basic set of terminal (hooks, weights, jigheads) that always travel with us, and some specific hard baits and soft baits that go on every trip. With that in mind, we've developed a packing list of our favorite travel gear.

In addition to baits and terminal we rely on travel rods to catch fish wherever we go. We have chosen each of these rods for a specific purpose and would recommend them without hesitation. The key to traveling is using the strongest rods you can afford (strength beats sensitivity during travel) because if you break a rod deep in the mountains or across an ocean there probably isn't going to be a replacement.

We've assembled a crew of serious anglers to pursue the largest fish in South America on artificial lures! That's right, we required that everyone fish artificial lures, no bait allowed! Swimbaits, crankbaits, glide baits, topwater, all in pursuit of these giant freshwater monsters! Peacock Bass, Wolf Fish, Vampire Fish, Arowana, Piranha, and countless other species were caught along the way, and of course, we captured the mighty Arapaima!

Where Are We Fishing In 2022???

Are we coming to a lake near you? 2022 is going to be an awesome year! We can't wait to start catching fish and we can't wait to start hearing about all your successes both on and off the water. We're excited about what the future holds and thankful that you're coming on the journey with us!

Do you want to catch a giant fish this year? Perhaps you want to learn a new technique? The new year is a great time to set goals and create a plan to achieve them. Anglers who set goals are far more likely to be successful in 2022 than those who don't. We highly recommend you take the time to comment below with your goals. In 2021 we met about half of our personal goals. We were blessed to catch some giant fish, we had some near misses with world class fish, and we were able to travel to a ton of new locations. For 2022 we're doubling down our efforts and hunting for even bigger fish in even more places!
